Jumia Scraps Seller Commission Across Africa

Rocket Internet's Jumia, an eBay like marketplace has scrapped commission for sellers who use its site in Algeria, Angola, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Morocco, Tunisia, Zambia and Mozambique in a move to make selling on the platform as easy and convenient as possible.

In a statement, Elias Schulze, CEO for Jumia Africa said: "We want to encourage as many people as possible to sell on Jumia. Our zero commission policy means that sellers in these nine African countries can keep 100% of the money they make from their sales, making Jumia an easy way for them to boost their income."

Jumia is now present in over twenty-five countries across Africa and Asia. With a recently-launched mobile application as well as a user-friendly website, it aims to become the number one online shopping community for buyers and sellers worldwide.
Jumia recently launched in Kenya and Rwanda in East Africa and in Zambia and Mozambique.
